An intensely structured red of Mourvedre, Grenache and Syrah from the Costieres de Nîmes, the Lou Coucardié rouge, like its white counterpart, is made of the estate’s oldest and best vines into a wine that’s built to age, and also held back before release. This 2015 is just beginning to really open up all of its spicy, leathery, incense-y goodness. The density of the vintage is still on full display. Think Chateauneuf, but…well…cheaper!
